How to get to the Spit

The Spit is accessible by bicycle, wheelchair, on roller blades and on foot. But no cars are allowed onto the Spit.

The Spit is now open 7 days a week, as follows:
Monday to Friday: 4 pm to 9 pm.
Weekends and Holidays: 5:30 am to 9 pm.

Park on Unwin or Leslie; or in parking lot.

Located about seven kilometres east of Harbourfront, the Spit is easily accessible by bicycle, on roller blades and even on foot (for enthusiastic hikers) via the Martin Goodman Trail (recently renamed the Waterfront Trail).

The closest public transit access is by the 501 Queen St. Streetcar (get off at Leslie St. and go south on Leslie St.). It is about 1.5 km to the gate.

Cars are not allowed onto the Spit. Parking available at the gate (see map below).

Don’t bring your pets: they are not allowed on the Spit.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Pets are not allowed anywhere on the Spit. Their presence is very disturbing to wildlife and they create a hazard on the road which is used by walkers, cyclists and ‘bladers.
